Bob began his career in clinical laboratory science as bench Technologist in a hospital based chemistry laboratory. Having gained valuable experience on the “bench”, he decided to focus on educating future clinical laboratory scientists and began his teaching at a community college Clinical Laboratory Technician program. Eventually an opportunity presented itself to teach in a baccalaureate level Clinical Laboratory Technologist program at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York. His area of expertise is clinical chemistry and laboratory instrumentation. Aside from a five-year appointment as a chemistry supervisor at a local hospital chemistry laboratory, Bob has spent nearly 30 years teaching at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Bob rose to the academic rank of Professor of Clinical Laboratory Science, co-authored a textbook on clinical chemistry, co-authored two chapters In: McPherson RA and Pincus MR, eds.: Henry’s Clinical Diagnosis and Management by Laboratory Methods, 22st edition, presented numerous workshops, and wrote several continuing education articles for the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
